Óstán Loch Altan is a three-star hotel situated in the quiet village of Gortahork on the main N56 carriageway between Letterkenny and Dungloe. Here in the heart of Donegal Gaeltacht, the native Irish language, is the first language of the local people and Gaelic culture and customs are a vibrant part of everyday life.
In Óstán Loch Altan guests can avail of the À la carte and dinner menus in the Sonas Restaurant which always includes a seasonal selection of fresh local produce with Atlantic fresh fish dishes a speciality.
A selection of activities is available locally to limber your limbs including walking, fishing and horse-riding. For golfers there are 9-hole golf courses in nearby Falcarragh and Bunbeg while there is an 18-hole championship links course Dunfanaghy, approximately 16km north of the hotel.
Gortahork and the surrounding area has also become quite popular as a windsurfing destination with Magheroarty Beach close by. The hotel offers dry room facilities for surfers.
The village of Gortahork boasts a beautiful coastal location between Letterkenny and Dungloe. The area is home to some of Ireland's finest beaches, including those at Magheroarty and Falcarragh. For more adventure, guests can visit Glenveagh National Park, a 20 minute drive away, and Tory Island, which can be reached by a short boat trip from Magheroarty.
