The most lovingly restored building in Donegal Town after the castle is another castle, the Olde Castle Bar, located just across from the seat of the O'Donnell Clan. Dermot Clarke and his family in their ten year tenure have created an olde worlde atmosphere with a meticulous eye to detail. A low wooden ceiling, fine stone work, dimmed lighting and numerous nooks and crannies are the most notable features of the pub. The loyal locals are always good for a chat, but if you want a bit of privacy with your partner, you can always make the most of one of the nooks and crannies.
