Áras an Uachtaráin is the official residence of the President of Ireland. Built in 1751, it's situated in the 1,752 acres of the Phoenix Park in County Dublin.
Áras an Uachtaráin was originally built by Park Ranger Nathaniel Clements, then acquired by the Viceroys who oversaw British rule in Ireland. Today it is the Official Residence of the President of Ireland and has been used for that purpose since 1938.
Áras an Uachtaráin is open Saturdays only. Free admission tickets are issued at the Phoenix Park Visitor Centre on the day and group and/or advance booking is not permitted.
The Phoenix Park Shuttle Bus services all the main features of the Park, operating every half hour, seven days a week, on a circular route around the park starting and finishing at Parkgate Street, close to Heuston Station and the Luas.
