Old Bushmills Distillery
Discover the spirit of Northern Ireland: Old Bushmills Distillery, where tradition meets taste.
Does this whiskey distillery have one of the most beautiful locations in the world? We certainly think so. Located in the small and charming village of Bushmills, a stone’s throw away from the Giant’s Causeway on the north Antrim coast, the Old Bushmills Distillery is the oldest licenced whiskey distillery in the world with records here dating back to 1608.
Today, whiskey is still being made here with water drawn from the River Bush which flows through the village. The distillery has weathered fires and prohibition (which halted economically important shipments to the US) and is now one of the most popular whiskeys produced on the island of Ireland. Step through the doors here and you’re into a world of sensory delights with the warm scent of malted barley and oak barrels. Guided tours are perfect for uncovering the stages involved in distillation, from the milling of grains to maturation. You can also enjoy a tour and tasting experience, where you can sample a Bushmills single malt whiskey for yourself.
