Owned and run by the McGrath family, Wild Honey Inn dates from 1860 in the small town of Lisdoonvarna, and has a wealth of old world charm and character, including open log fires. It was completely refurbished in 2009 to blend contemporary and traditional styling in the unique setting of the Burren, but still staying a proper ‘pub’. Kate Sweeney and Aidan McGrath combine modern comforts for the traveller with the intimacy of a family-run inn.
Wild Honey Inn offers superb accommodation with 14 ensuite rooms, all with countryside views. In addition our pub is Ireland's first and only Michelin Star Pub. Close by is the traditional Irish music village of Doolin, where there are regular daily trips to and from the Aran Islands. The world famous Cliffs of Moher are a few miles further along the coast. Lahinch and Fanore are good surfing beaches and are within easy reach. Fly-fishing in nearby lake Inchiquin is popular as is rock fishing along the coast road between Fanore and Ballyvaughan. Wild Honey Inn is situated on the edge of Lisdoonvarna, the gateway town to the Burren region of North Clare. The Burren is an ideal location for walking and cycling with many interesting routes to explore. For the golf enthusiast the Greg Norman designed Doonbeg Golf Course is approximately 30 minutes’ drive away and Lahinch Golf Club is a short drive away.
