Townhouses set in restored Palladian courtyards from 1771 in grounds of Markree Castle. A tranquill riverside setting with all amenities available locally. Sauna and hot tub in walled garden.

County Sligo's striking landscape has remained relatively unaffected by the passage of time. The beautiful countryside, the stunning coastline, the rambling hills and mountains provide a wonderfully interesting location for a leisure break. Wit its unspoilt beauty, the area has much to offer you from picturesque driving routes and equestrian pursuits to gold, fishing, walking and water sports.

While here, why not glide across Lough Gill and visit the Lake Isle of Innisfree, as immortalised by W B Yeats, visit the megalithic tombs at Carrowmore or perhals take a leisurely walk up Knocknarea mountain and see the tomb of Queen Maeve of Connaught and take in the spectacular views over Ballisodare Bay and the Atlantic. It's a small wonder that the area has been named the "land of heart's desire".

Set in the heartland of the county, Markree Castle Homefarm is a reconstruction of an 18th Century courtyard complex of luxury apartments set within Markree Castle demesne. Lying adjacent to Markree Castle Hotel and the river Unshin and set within rolling parklands, you enjoy all the benefits of privacy and seclusion, while you can reach the surrounding areas in minutes.

The accommodation is set around the original 18th Century courtyards and guests can relax in our tranquill walled garden and use the spa with its hot-tub and sauna. The apartments are 2 storey with 1, 2 and 3 bedroom and 4 star standard and luxuriously appointed and incorporating electric central heating throughout. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a diswasher, washing machine, fridge freezer, oven/hob and microwave. The spacious lounge/dining-room features French windows, opening to either the garden or the riverside and is serviced by cable tv .

Collooney, just one file away, is set in the heartof the country's best salmon fishing. We would be happy to organise a day on the river if you so wish. For the golfing enthusiast, you'll be happy to know that we have 7 courses within a 20 minute drive. For those of you keen on horse riding, we have stables adjacent to Homefarm.
