Bere Island Lodge is a beautiful approved B&B, which was specially built with guests in mind. Ideally located in Rerrin Village in the harbour of Lawrence Cove. Cafe, shop, pub and gift shop all in the vacinity.

Bere Island Lodge B&B is a Fáilte Ireland approved accommodation. A spectacular setting awaits you in peaceful surroundings with panoramic views of Bere Island and the inner harbour and also looking out to Hungry Hill.

Bere Island Lodge cater for couples, families, groups and reunions, with outdoor attractions including walking (Beara Way), fishing, sailing, kayaking or cycling the quiet roads whether it’s leisurely or a challenging climb to the hillside slopes of beautiful Bere Island.

Bere Island Lodge supply high chairs and cots for children. There is a kitchen sitting and dining room for you to make yourself at home. There are washing and drying facilities for you to use. The Bere Island Lodge is walking distance of shop where you can get your coffee, scones and sandwiches, then a few more steps to the pub, with the gift shop just 5 minutes in the other direction.

Bere Island is rich in historical importance from a military point of view as well as an archaeological one. Once a base for the British Navy and Army and now the Irish Army use it as a base, Bere Island Lodge can offer guests guided walks or tours. Fort Berehaven will be opened for visitors this year and will bring you back in time. There are two martello towers which are a must and brave the climb and see these spectacular views, next is the well known walk to the lighthouse, you will be rewarded with beautiful scenery and then you must find the Bronze Age standing stones. There are two beautiful beaches suitable for swimming. Sea-Safari, if you want to explore the coastline of Bere Island from the sea, is a rollercoaster journey and is a must for the brave. If golf is your choice the ferry takes you to within 3 minutes walk to Berehaven Golf Club, Bere Island Lodge can assist you in any bookings you may need and any information you may require.

There are restaurants and pubs for you to decide where to go for the evening. Bike hire is available to the public; you can also avail of the local newly upgraded football field. Other attractions during the year are: World Christian mediation week, silent retreat week, midsummer run, shore angling available, fishing trips available on demand, Bere Island festival, swim week and heritage week, there are also summer camps for children.

The peace and quietness of Bere Island is just magic. The saying is ‘There is nothing to do, but plenty to do’. Bere Island is the nearest thing to times past.
