Walkers Welcome

A suitable secure facility with shelves, hangers, and wall hooks used for the drying and storage of walking gear to be available. The facility will be heated, well ventilated, and aerated, and a dehumidifier to be provided if necessary. Emergency rain gear will also be made available. There will be a nominated person in the B&B who will provide information on the best walks in the area, the times, the distances, fitness levels needed, as well as local access information. They will also be able to provide you with contact details for local walking guides, and transfer information to get to the start of the walks and pick up afterwards. 

Anglers Welcome

A suitable secure facility with shelves, hangers, and wall hooks used for the drying and storage of fishing clothing, boots, wellingtons, and tackle to be available. The facility will be heated, well ventilated, and aerated, and a dehumidifier to be provided if necessary. A separate fridge/freezer will be provided for the storage of fishing bait. There will be a nominated person in the B&B who will provide up to date information on local angling, conditions and methods. They will also advise guests of current angling regulations, and they can arrange for you to hire a ghillie/guide, tuition, licence permits, boat hire, tackle and bait for individuals and groups. They can also arrange transfers to/from the lakes/rivers, on request, as well as providing written directions to you to lakes and rivers in the area.

Farmstay Welcome

A suitable secure facility with shelves, hangers, and wall hooks used for the drying of farm gear and clothing to be available. The facility will be heated, well ventilated, and aerated, and a dehumidifier to be provided if necessary. There will be a nominated person in the B&B who will provide knowledge of farming and related topics. At least one ‘learn to’ farm experience will be available, subject to time of year, season, and safety considerations. Farm house packages to be available for ‘learn to’ holidays on the farm. There will be a defined area close to farmyard that will be made available as a ‘petting’ area for young children to view animals, as appropriate. Guided tours of working areas to be available.

Pet Friendly

A suitable secure sleeping area for pets will be provided. This may be an outdoor facility, such as kennels, or a suitable indoor facility. Feeding/Water bowl and dog lead available on request. Your host will provide you with information on local veterinary and pet sitting/kennel facilities. 

Golfers Welcome

A suitable secure facility with shelves, hangers, and wall hooks used for the drying and storage of golf clothing, shoes and equipment to be available. The facility will be heated, well ventilated, and aerated, and a dehumidifier to be provided if necessary. . There will be a nominated person in the B&B who will provide information on local golf courses, golfing events, golf related activities/amenities in the area, such as driving ranges, Pitch & Putt, courses and green fees. They will facilitate and confirm advance booking of tee times and equipment, and arrange golfing tuition or individuals and groups on request. They will also arrange transfers to/from the golf courses on request.

Adventure Seekers

A suitable secure facility with shelves, hangers, and wall hooks used for the drying and storage of bicycles, surfboards, outdoor adventure clothing to be available. The facility will be heated, well ventilated, and aerated, and a dehumidifier to be provided if necessary. There will be a nominated person in the B&B who will provide information on local adventure activities, provide information about the area and make bookings with local guides and tours. The will also impart specialist knowledge of flora and fauna in the area, and provide information on transport to/from local walks/amenities.

Food Lovers

There will be a nominated person in the B&B who will provide information on local food producers, food markets, restaurants, food festivals and cookery schools.  They can also organise and confirm trails or tours of owner and local farms, food producers, as well as participate in cookery courses on-site or in an alternative location. Home baking and traditional Irish Cooking demonstrations will be made available, with provision of a food tasting for all guest participants. Copies of all recipes to be available, on request.

Eco Friendly

Our eco-friendly homes are conscious of the environmental impact each and every one of us has on the environment. We are committed to providing the best possible service to our guests, while at the same time minimising the impact our business activities have on the environment. Eco friendly homes aim to achieve this through some of the following: solar panels to help heat water, eco friendly soap and shampoo, waste recycling and, as a visitor, you have a very important role to play in helping us to conserve our natural assets and become a more sustainable destination.

Blaise Gaeltachta – A Gaeltacht Experience

There will be a nominated person in the B&B who will be a fluent Irish speaker and provide informal language lessons for guests on request. They will provide information on things to do and events in the local area, in particular, cultural and traditional music events, relevant Irish language classes and activities through Irish. They will also provide information and make bookings with Irish-speaking local guides and tours, on request.

Ancestry Seekers 

If you would like help discovering your Irish roots, then the ‘Irish Ancestry Seekers’ category is just for you. There will be a nominated person in the B&B who will provide knowledge of local history and local families in the area, as well as contact details and information on museums, libraries, heritage sites, Churches and Church records. They will also facilitate and provide advice to visitors with contacts in the local area who can help you in your search. A selection of genealogical literature will be made available, on request.
