Kilgraney house is an elegant 19th Century Georgian country house set in five acres of manicured herb gardens on the eastern slopes of the Barrow valley in county Carlow. Halfway between Bagenalstown and Borris.

Kilgraney House and herb garden is set in rural country Carlow in the south east of Ireland. The house offers a unique blend of hospitality designed to indulge your senses.

Play a game of croquet on the lawn or walk through the herb filled gardens. Dine in the cherub adorned dining room, or relax in the drawing room by an open fire. Treat yourself to an invigorating aromatherapy massage or a pampering facial at AromaSpa.

The interior provides an eclectic and chic marriage of Georgian country house and oriental style in a homely setting. Offering the comforts and facilities you would expect from a small intimate hotel.

Guest accommodation comprises of six comfortable bedrooms and two contemporary courtyard suites. All guest bedrooms are furnished and decorated in their own unique style and all have ensuite bathroom facilities. All bedrooms are non smoking rooms.

The cherub adorned dining room, with dark mulberry walls, offers an intimate space to experience the seven course table d'hôte dinner. Breakfast is a lavish start to the day with fresh fruits and organic yoghurt, there famous orange and raisin pancakes with crème fraîche, followed by either a traditional Irish breakfast, scrambled egg with smoked salmon or baked egg with spinach.


The AromaSpa is a bespoke aromatherapy centre in a restored apple storehouse in the gardens of Kilgraney. It offers an all encompassing selection of treatments for both men and women that incorporate luxurious essential oil blends formulated by internationally renowned aromatherapy associates.

The herb gardens at Kilgraney consist of a series of interconnecting herbal gardens. There is a large kitchen garden, a tea walk, a medicinal herb courtyard, a medieval monastic herb garden and a garden of aromatic and fragrant herbs.
