Claggan Mountain is the only coastal site within Ballycroy National Park and offers a multi access walkway across the bog with panoramic views east to the National Park mountains, south towards Claggan Mountain (382m) and west, across the inlet, to Achill Island.
Ballycroy National Park, established in November 1998, comprises of 11,000 hectares of Atlantic blanket bog and mountainous terrain, covering a vast uninhabited area dominated by the Nephin Beg mountain range. The National Park Visitor Centre is located 9km north in Ballycroy village. The seaside village of Mulranny is located 7km to the south'
