Friday 26 April - John Kelly with special guest Loah 20:00

Writer and broadcaster John Kelly reads from his new poetry collection, Notions. For many years John has been at the forefront of music and arts broadcasting in Ireland. As a journalist he has written extensively for many publications he is the author of three novels, The Little Hammer, Sophisticated Boom Boom and From Out of the City, which was shortlisted for Irish Novel of the Year at the Bord Gáis Irish Book Awards 2014.

Loah is Sallay Matu Garnett, an artist of Irish/ Sierra Leonean origin who grew up between Maynooth and West Africa. She performs a unique blend of genre-bending Afro-soul which she calls ‘ArtSoul’ and has released several stunning singles and a debut EP, This Heart.

Saturday 27 April - David Mitchell in Conversation 14:00

David Mitchell is the award-winning and bestselling author of The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet, Black Swan Green, Cloud Atlas, Number9Dream, Ghostwritten and The Bone Clocks. We are delighted to welcome David to HomePlace to talk about his career with writer and broadcaster John Kelly.
