The 5km drive out along the Wild Atlantic Way to Brandon's Point from Cloghane village on the Dingle Peninsula (approximately 40km west of Tralee and 20km north of Dingle town) is blessed with fantastic views north and east, where mountains meet the sea. Sheep wander the constantly eroding rocks oblivious to their tenuous positions.

This breathtakingly scenic and tranquil area is a popular bird and sea life watching spot and is steeped in history. The strong north-west winds in autumn will funnel birds into this bay and Brandon point is a perfect spot to view them. Great, Arctic and Pomarine skuas are frequent and Long-tailed skuas turn up annually. Large numbers of Cory’s and Sooty Shearwater, Grey Phalaropes and Sabines Gulls have also American vagrants such as Red-eyed Vireos and the locality is well worth a visit during the autumn.
