Tullaherin Round Tower, near Dungarvan, County Kilkenny dates from the early part of the 9th Century and was probably built by Cearbhall Mac Dunghal, King of Ossory from 845 to 855, as a defence against the Norsemen.

Tullaherin Round Tower, located near Dungarvan, County Kilkenny, stands at almost 22.5m high. It dates from the early part of the 9th Century and was probably built by Cearbhall Mac Dunghal, King of Ossory from 845 to 855, as a defence against the Norsemen.

The adjoining church, now in ruins, was built in the 11th or 12th Century. To the north of the site there are little mounds in a field indicating the site of a large village adjoining the round tower. A rural folk museum showing many household items in everyday use in days gone by is housed in the nearby, now unoccupied, parochial house.
