Hilary Jenkinson is the potter behind Crannmor Pottery and is based near Kirikee, Glenmalure. Her handthrown stoneware clay range suits most tastes, with options including everyday tableware items, to that special gift.
Hilary Jenkinson of Crannmor Pottery is now based Kirikee, Glenmalure is creating her own pottery by traditional handthrowing methods for over 20 years. Hillary creates three unique ranges called Moss, Cornflower and Silk and all her work is hand thrown on an electric wheel using stoneware clay.
Preferring straight lines to the more traditional bellied pots, her shapes are based on old pewter beer tankards. The simple motif of a Celtic spiral, applied with a sponge, is used to decorate her Cornflower and Willow ranges.
In 2005 Hilary relocated my workshop to Castlecomer Co. Kilkenny and began producing new Silk Range which was greatly inspired by travels to the southern hemisphere. Her Silk range, which was greatly inspired by travels to the southern hemisphere, is more simplistic in its design which fits in with the more modern lifestyle.
In late 2012 Hillary relocated to the foothills of the Wicklow Mountains near Glenmalure. To coincide with the move I have created a new collection called the Willow Range. It is similar in form to the Cornflower range but the colour is softer with an off white base and a rich brown spiral pattern.
Hillary also designs and creates specialised pieces for galleries and commissions.
