Terms and conditions: Derry Girls

This prize is sponsored by Tourism Ireland and Visit Derry.

To be in with a chance to win, participants must answer the competition question correctly and fill in their details (first name, last name, and a valid email address) on the form.

Only entries received via the official competition entry form will be in with a chance to win. 

This prize includes: 

• 2 roundtrip standard economy airline tickets from the winner’s nearest Ireland gateway in the USA
• 2 return transfers from Dublin Airport to Derry City via Belfast and Causeway Coast with Translink
• 1 nights’ accommodation in Belfast City at the 4-Star Maldron Hotel
• 2 train tickets from Belfast to Derry City (via one of the World’s most scenic train journey) with 1 nights’ accommodation along the Causeway Coastal Route at Portrush Atlantic Hotel and 2 tickets to visit to the Giant’s Causeway (including transfers via Translink)
• 3 night’s accommodation in Derry City with one evening meal at the 4-Star Everglades Hotel
• 2 tickets for Derry Girls Screen Tour with City Walking Tours
• 2 tickets for Derry Girls Afternoon Tea at Everglades Hotel

This competition is open to residents of the United States of America.

Participants should be older than 21 years at the time of competition entry, in order to be eligible to participate.

Participants are not required to make a purchase in order to participate. 

Internet access is required in order to participate. 

This competition is open from Oct 12th, 2022 – November 18th, 2022. 
 
A prize-winner will be chosen at random from all correct entries received in the afore-mentioned competition period. 
 
The winner will be notified by email on Monday, November 28th and will have three days to react and accept their prize by 5 PM ET on Thursday, December 1st (TBC). If the winner does not reply within those dates, the prize will be passed on to the next winner. 
 
This prize can be redeemed in the period up until the end of December 2023 on the basis of availability on the requested dates.  
 
Overnight stays in the Maldron Hotel, Portrush Atlantic Hotel, and Everglades Hotel: Valid until December 31st, 2023. Subject to availability. Limited availability at weekends and during public holidays.  
 
Advance booking required a minimum of 120 days prior to intended dates of travel. Blackout dates may apply and include December 15th, 2022, through January 3rd, 2023; and March 17th, 2023. Travel must be booked and completed by December 31st, 2023.  
 
Any upgrades or alterations may be made and will be the responsibility of prize winner.

Tourism Ireland will liaise with the winner, Visit Derry, and airline partner to organize and book the flights in the name of the winner and their travel companion. Visit Derry will liaise with hotel partners and tour operators to book hotels and activities in the name of the winner and their travel companion. Flights and hotel stay will be booked on the basis of availability on the requested dates.  
 
Prize is based on two travelers, single room, double occupancy.

This prize cannot be exchanged for money. There is no cash or other alternative for this prize (or part thereof). Prize has no cash value and is void if bartered or sold.  
 
The prize is not transferable to anyone other than the winner. 
 
Any future increase to government taxes shall be the responsibility of the prize winner.  
 
By entering, entrants agree that they information they provide may be used by Tourism Ireland for the administration of this drawing, and may also be used to carry outreach about this competition, however, Tourism Ireland will only contact entrants with further promotions if they have opted in to receive them.  
 
Tourism Ireland reserves the right to exclude entries that contain material deemed offensive or believed to be fraudulent or based on misconduct.

All prize details are correct at the time of publication, but the promoter (Tourism Ireland) and partners (Visit Derry) reserve the right to alter the details if necessary. 

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tourism Ireland, Visit Derry, Maldron Hotel Belfast, Portrush Atlantic Hotel, the Giant’s Causeway, Everglades Hotel, City Walking Tours, and Translink will assume no responsibility for any loss, injury or damage arising from the winning of this prize or attendance at any venue. The winner will do so at their own risk. 

Tourism Ireland reserves the right to modify, terminate or temporarily suspend the competition if it deems it necessary in its sole discretion to do so, provided that Tourism Ireland will not unreasonably exercise this right. 

The winner’s name will not be publicly announced. However, by entering the drawing, entrants agree to participate in any promotional activities connected with the prize drawing, should they be selected as a winner.  

Your data will only be collected, processed and used by Tourism Ireland for the stated purposes and for the implementation of the competition, insofar as this is necessary for the execution of the respective purposes. You can object to the collection, processing and use of the data for the aforementioned purposes at any time by sending an e-mail to dpo@tourismireland.com 

The winner may be required to provide additional personal information like passport, driving license, etc. in order for Tourism Ireland (or partners) to make travel arrangements, for them and their travel companion, to and on the island of Ireland. Arrangements may be made directly through Tourism Ireland or through an agency. Personal data will need to be shared with relevant parties including air carriers, car hire providers, etc. Tourism Ireland will share only minimal information to facilitate these activities.
