Paul Simon is calling time on his tour as a touring musician after more than 50 years on the road.

Paul Simon is calling time on his career as a touring musician after more than 50 years on the road with one last world tour.

Simon’s musical career is remarkable in that it has so many different high points, from the early years with Simon and Garfunkel, to Grammy winning records solo albums like Still Crazy After All These Years, to the remarkable success of his 1986 album Graceland, where he collaborated with South African musicians during the era of apartheid and cultural boycott to create a touchstone recording.

Simon’s touring band had collected together musicians from numerous different eras of his life, and the 2017 passing of Cameroonian guitarist Vincent Nguini, who had played with Simon for 30 years, that is one of the many reasons that Simon has decide to retire from touring.

Along for the ride on this farewell tour are two other acts from the baby boomer generation, with blues and folk singer Bonnie Raitt and singer-songwriter James Taylor making up a stellar three-for-one bill.
