Enjoy this celebration of Irish heritage, crafts and arts this August at the Tubbercurry Old Fair Day Festival.
This festival is free to the public and is now in its 33rd year. With five jam-packed days including the Family Fun Day on the Sunday, there's plenty to see and do. Get in on the action at the pig racing, play games, try your hand at crafts and pottery and much more.
The highlight of the festival is on the Wednesday, where the town is transformed with a craft and heritage village. The streets are pedestrianised, which is perfect for families. You can enjoy free craft and arts demonstrations from glass-blowing, spinning, weaving and basket-making to thatching and trashing. Try making some pottery, meet the makers, enjoy street entertainment, take in a live concert by country and western singer Lisa McHugh, sample the artisan food, visit the animals, marvel over vintage displays and have a blast at the funfair.
There truly is something for everyone to see and do. Chosen as the Top 14th Festival to visit in the world by Canadian’s Flight Network, this great event also snagged Sligo's Best Tourism Award in 2017.
