38 O'Connell Street, Limerick, Limerick,
Mr Barry Kiely
Marcopolo restaurant has fast become one of Limerick city's hot spots and as the latest in a group which includes other local favourites like Chocolat, Jasmine Palace and Z-we-ton it doesn't fail to deliver on the high standard the group is known for
Marcopolo's surroundings are spectacular with a colour scheme that incorporates black, grey and cream tones, distinctive chandeliers and a variety of opulent booths and seating set ups catering for large groups and more intimate evenings.
The restaurant opens from 12noon offering a very popular two course menu for €9.95 until 5pm, which includes a starter, main course and soft drink. Why not try the shredded pork crostini followed by the pizza Marcopolo or Malaysia land & sea.
For the evening, the value menu starts from as little as €25.00 for 4 courses. Popular starters include Marco’s antipasto, rustic goat’s cheese crostini and fiery peppercorn chicken wings. For the main course, choices include aromatic duck confit, trio of seafood (fish of the day with prawns and scallops), and a large selection of pizza and pasta.
Marco Polo also boasts a stylish and contemporary cocktail menu which is not to be missed. All the classics are catered for here and made to perfection, but if you’re feeling brave, why not sample a Serial Killer or - for the sweet tooth - a Strawberry Shortcake.
