Based in a pub in Ireland, Micheal and his friends come together for Michael's homecoming and how he has been since he left for a seemingly successful acting career abroad. Little do they know....
The play is set in the 1970s at ‘The White House’, the pub where in their youth, Michael and his friends used to engage in free thought and high aspirations, away from the church and in the light of Kennedy's era of influence. Now Michael has returned to Ireland after a seemingly successful acting career abroad.
As the night unfolds, we discover the realities of life for the reunited friends, now that youth has given way to a slow but steady decay. Their true lack of direction becomes clear through muddled conversations as the drink flows. Standing over all of this are the absent bar owner JJ and his beloved portrait of the late JFK, both fallen heroes from an idealistic and idealised time, long since passed.
