Julien Baker has already played Dublin this year in support of Belle and Sebastian, but she will make a return to Vicar Street this September for her biggest headline show in Dublin to date.

The Memphis singer-songwriter is one of a group of excellent American female singer-songwriters, alongside the likes of Phoebe Bridgers, Katie Crutchfield of Waxahatchee, Angel Olsen, and Anna Burch, who are heavily influenced by 1990s indie music like Elliott Smith, Bright Eyes, Liz Phair, and Guided by Voices.

Baker’s second album, Turn Out The Lights, which was released in October 2017, cemented her reputation as one of the leading voices in American indie, with its emotional and stripped back tales of illness, addiction, faith, and love. A truly singular voice.
