Detroit-based indie musician Anna Burch recently released her first album, Quit The Curse, this February, and now is set to visit Dublin for her first solo show upstairs in Whelan’s this July.

While it is Burch’s first record made under her own name, she has a long musical resumé, including stints singing and performing with the bands Frontier Ruckus and Failed Flowers.

Quit The Curse sees Burch stepping into the limelight with aplomb. The record’s sound channels early- to mid-’90s indie rock songwriters like Elliott Smith, Liz Phair, and Aimee Mann, mixing breezily strummed electric guitar chords with an underpinning drive from her rhythm section. Meanwhile, lyrically Burch portrays the travails of relationships with a delightful mixture of wit and weariness.

Watch out for this wonderful songwriter who has made a potent breaththrough in 2018.
