The annual Cork Oyster & Seafood Festival is a food, maritime and cultural celebration taking place 20-22 September 2019 in Cork.

The Cork Oyster & Seafood Festival will take place in Cork on 20th, 21st and 22nd of September 2019, with the hub being The Metropole Hotel in Cork City but there are over 60 participating venue's.

The weekend festival will be a celebration of seafood, culture and music.

The opening evening of the festival is European Culture Night so the hotel will be one of the locations to celebrate Culture Night.

The Cork City Samba band will be playing outside the hotel and there will be some complimentary oysters with Harty Oysters from 7.30pm until 8.30pm.

Within The Metropole, Irish Distillers will host the Jameson Cask Class, with Ger Buckley. This class will see Ger break down and rebuild a whiskey barrel while talking about how whiskey is made and blended. Ger has knowledge passed down 5 generations of his family and is Head Cooper and creator of Jameson Coopers Croze whiskey. This will be hosted from 8pm until 9.30pm. The demonstration will be followed by a whiskey tasting with Jameson.

At 9pm, Paddy Casey will be playing in the main Ballroom.

On the Saturday, The Cork Gourmet Trail will take place across Cork City. The drinks reception location on arrival will be The Metropole Lobby. Guests will then go on a tour across Cork City, sampling food from some of Corks best restaurants.

Saturday night will see the return of a live band with a main headline act in the Ballroom “The Frank and Walters”.

Also on Saturday evening, there will be a "Jameson and Oyster masterclasses" in the snug with Jameson and Patrick McMurray.

Wine & oyster pairing sessions, hosted in the Tea Rooms with Simon Lamont during the weekend.

On the Sunday there will be host a family day with children's maritime activities.

The highlight of the day will be from 3-5pm with the All-Ireland oyster shucking competition . This will feature Oyster Shuckers from around the world including the World Champion shucker ‘Shucker Paddy’.
