Upper Lough Avaul is half a mile beyond Lower Lough Avaul, two miles south-west of Glengarriff, County Cork. The lake holds small brown trout and is stocked regularly with big rainbow trout.

Upper Lough Avaul is a clear water mountain lough in scenic rugged terrain with attractive shoreline angling sites.

Some native wild Brown Trout are present and an excellent stock of Rainbow Trout, with some small Eels and Rudd. Adult Rainbow Trout are stocked regularly to maintain a high stock density and to give satisfactory angling returns. There is a boat for hire.

Open season is from 1 April until 30 September.
