Streedagh, Grange, Sligo,
Mr Martin Feeney

The activity offered is unique to this part of the country. They demonstrate the art of sheep-herding with sheepdogs, showing people how dogs are trained and also how they are used to move sheep around a farm or mountain.

Atlantic sheepdogs offers you the opportunity to see some of the worlds smartest sheepdogs, working in their natural environment. Martin Feeney, who together with his dogs, has represented Ireland on an International stage on numerous occasions over the past twenty years, demonstrates how sheepdogs are used to move sheep around mountains and fields, on a typical Irish Farm. You will also learn how the dogs are trained, about the many different breeds of sheep reared on the Atlantic Sheepdogs Farm and all about life on the farm.

Martin loves nothing more than to be working with his trusty companions, and is delighted to be able to share his enthusiasm with others.

Atlantic Sheepdogs is located on the Wild Atlantic Way, in Streedagh, a small picturesque townland in North Sligo, nestled between Benbulben Mountain to the east, and the Atlantic Ocean to the west. This is the perfect setting to watch these very special dogs, doing exactly what they enjoy to do.

Atlantic Sheepdogs Farrm overlooks Streedagh Beach, a 3km long, beautiful sandy beach. This is an ideal place to go for one of the most scenic walks on the west coast of Ireland. The beach is steeped in history, given that three of the unfortunate Spanish Armada met their demise just offshore in 1588 and one can trek back through time following the rugged and famous de Cuellar trail, part of which cradles Atlantic Sheepdogs Farm.
