The Pigeon Hole Cave:
The Pigeon Hole or ‘Poll na gColum’, is a cave located just outside of Cong. It is one of the most renowned and accessible caves in the area. A flight of 61 limestone steps leads down to the mysterious mouth of the cave, with a stream connecting the nearby loughs. In the winter time, the eerie sound of the water rapidly flowing through the cave may be mistaken for the wail of a Banshee. One of Cong's most famous fairy tales is associated with the Pigeon Hole - The Fairy Trout. The telling of this tale will be left to your local guide.
