10 of the best children's menus in Dublin

By Shane O Leary, 12th January 2012

Dining out when you’re a parent can be a struggle. Buggies, tantrums, unhelpful waiting staff and tired kids are a recipe for disaster (pardon the pun!), particularly if there’s no kids menu, and you get stuck with having to order from the main menu (come on restaurant owners, how many four year olds do you know that can really appreciate a €15 main course??).

Lack of choice is also an issue, and the general rubbery chicken nuggets and chips option seems to be the default; an unhealthy and overpriced option for young tummies. Sometimes, it can be easier to just take the kids to McDonalds, where at least you're sure of what’s on offer.

However, becoming a parent shouldn’t mean the end to your dining out experiences, and we’re here to help with that, with a round up of the best child-friendly menus in Dublin restaurants. Small mouths will love organic bangers and mash, grilled catch of the day or delicious pasta dishes, and you’ll also love the peace and quiet that this brings!
