Millisle Beach Park
- View as map
Sand beach and lagoon and paddling pool area at the Millisle Beach Park.
Located on the Ards Peninsula’s east coast, this is a popular location for bathers, with many coming to enjoy the seaside resort and man-made sea lagoon, which is refreshed by seawater every high tide. The lagoon is where most bathing takes place and where water quality is monitored. The southern half of the shoreline is sandy, ideal for sandcastles and paddling, while the northern half is a rocky shoreline, with many rock-pools for exploring.
The village of Millisle is a short walk away where you can treat yourself to chips, eating them straight from the paper in the fresh air, or an ice-cream, while sitting on a park bench watching the world go by. Other nearby facilities include public toilets and picnic tables.
Children should be sure to visit the Pirate Ship and Play-park, where they can burn off some extra energy before heading home.
There is no lifeguard service at Millisle Beach.
The area has been awarded a 2017 Seaside Award for its facilities and water quality.
