Shore angling along the Cork and Kerry coastline has become very popular. The shore angling here is certainly among some of the best in Western Europe and a wide variety of fish can be caught.

Some of the main fishing point to not along the Cork and Kerry coastline are Bantry and Dunmanus Bay. They are the least fished section of the Cork coastline with access issues keeping them quietly productive.

The Beara Peninsula, in West Cork is a wild and unspoilt area to fish. Visitors to this area can expect to find a wide range of species including wrasse, Pollack, mackerel and open sea mullet.

Anglers are advised to follow recognised safety practices, and wear safety gear when angling. If fishing from rock ledges beware of freak waves that can occur from time to time, and shore anglers are asked remember to check the tides.
