A challenging ride including some very steep hill sections.

Leaving Dromara by Dromore Street and the Banbridge Road the climbing starts almost immediately. Turn right into Dromore Road and at the first crossroads turn left and in a few hundred yards turn right into Springmount Road. Don’t be fooled by the relatively flat section as the road soon rears up towards a T junction with the Kinallen Road. Turn right here and continue on a long drag upwards for 1.5 miles to a crossroads with the B2, Ballynahinch Road. At the crossroads go straight over, pass the Harry Ferguson Memorial, and in another mile turn left into Drumlough Road. Continue, passing straight over a crossroads in approx. 1.5 miles, and then reach the Dromara Road. Turn right then immediately left into Edentrillick Hill Road. This road follows the ridge line and gives great views of the distant Mourne Mountains. Continue to a T junction and turn right. Continue on this road and in approx. 1.5 miles, at a sharp left hand turn, keep right into the narrow McKees Bridge Road. At the next crossroads go straight over and start climbing again towards the Downshire Monument. Pass the monument and descend to the Dromore Road. Turn right and arrive at Hillsborough at the top of Main Street. Descend Main Street and at the bottom of the hill keep right into Ballynahinch Street. Continue on this road, passing the Comber Road on the left, and then take the next left, Windmill Road. Follow this undulating road for nearly two miles then turn right into The New Road. This twisty road has a steep hill in approx. half a mile. Continue to a T junction then turn right and take the first left into Carricknadarriff Road. At the next crossroads turn right and continue to the B77. Take care turning left then turn right into Loughaghery road. At the next T junction, beside a church, turn right and at the next T turn left. In a few hundred yards, keep left into Lakeland Road and at the next Y junction keep left into Cluntagh Road. Follow Cluntagh Road for 1.5 miles and make sure to be in a low gear approaching the T junction with the B2, Ballynahinch Road. Turn left then right immediately into Hill Road. This next stretch is very steep and requires low gears. Continue uphill for nearly a mile and reach a T junction. Turn left onto Mullaghdrin Road East and take a breather as you descend toward a crossroads. Go straight over into Stewarts Road and continue to another crossroads and go straight over into Park Road. Its downhill now towards Begny Lake turning right at the next crossroads onto the Dundrum Road. Continue, with the lake on your left to Dromara.
