Numerous nature trails, Lough side and woodland walks and cycle trails run throughout this park.
We invite you to come and explore Castle Archdale Country Park. This beautiful country park is situated on the glorious shores of Lower Lough Erne. The stunning surroundings and wonderful views make it the perfect destination for visitors to come and take a walk amongst the woodlands. Boats are also available for hire for those who would like to explore the islands nearby.
The park is home to a wide range of wildlife including foxes, badgers and numerous species of birds. Former Estate features include the impressive landscaped courtyard, extensive parkland, a rock garden, walled garden and sweat house. There is also a family-friendly cycle route available which passes through the country park and the adjacent forest park. Moreover, there are also a new series of landscaped water treatment ponds which create additional wildlife habitats with nature walks.
Castle Archdale’s important role in WW2 as the most westerly flying-boat station, from which aircraft protected the allied convoys from the U-boat threat in the North Atlantic, is celebrated in a WW2 exhibition housed upstairs in the courtyard.
We hope you have an enjoyable positive experience at Castle Archdale Country Park.
