Knockcree is a natural garden of 1 hectare situated in Carrickmines, at the foothills of the Dublin Mountains. Planting started more than 70 years ago and although many new items have been added, the original Victorian structure and design remain largely unchanged. The garden is dominated by a large outcrop of granite that forms a dramatic backdrop for an unusual collection of plants. Of particular interest is the wide variety of rhododendrons, Hardy geraniums and ferns set out among many other woodland, herbaceous and alpine plants.
Because of the terrain, Knockcree Garden is not suitable for visitors with serious walking difficulties or using wheelchairs.
