A one hectare garden found at the foothills of the Dublin Mountains, Knockcree is located in Carrickmines. The planting of the garden began more than 70 years ago, but it still retains its original Victorian structure and design.
The garden is dominated by a large outcrop of granite that forms a dramatic backdrop for an unusual collection of plants. The garden has a wide variety of rhododendrons, Hardy geraniums and ferns set out among many other woodland, herbaceous and alpine plants.
Because of the terrain, Knockcree Garden is not suitable for visitors with serious walking difficulties or using wheelchairs.
