Contemporary depictions of Ireland's landscape, iconic landmarks and musical traditions.
Adrian Margey is one of Northern Ireland's most collectable young artists. Hailed by the Belfast Telegraph as 'one of the rising stars of a new generation of Ulster artists' his contemporary depictions of Irish landscape, iconic local landmarks and musical traditions are winning him a fan base both nationally and internationally.
Adrian has two very distinct styles. One he labels as traditional – inspired in the main part by the Irish impressionists. The other he labels loosely as contemporary. It is characterised by bold colours and strong form which echo the aesthetics of modern living. This style makes reference to the Naïve School and Fauvism and has been influenced by time spent in South America. Adrian uses a range of palette knife, finger painting and brush techniques to create his distinctive work.
The artist holds a number of public exhibitions in Northern Ireland each year. If you would like to receive notifications about these exhibition, please register your details at www.adrianmargey.com. Between public exhibitions, you are welcome to visit Adrian's Kilrea studio where you will find an excellent selection of work year-round.
