Copeland Islands: Daily trips landing on the main Copeland Island from early afternoon. Duration normally 2.5 hours approx. Copeland Island supports a large grey and common seal colony which we visit up close, daily. Extensive bird life around the islands includes Arctic terns, many species of gulls, gannets, oystercatchers, puffins, shearwaters etc. Birds of prey regularly visit. Animal life includes rabbits in profusion, the illusive sea otters.
The old farm houses are now used as weekend homes. Visitors are free to roam the island, visit the cemetery and take in the spectacular scenery over County Down, County Antrim and the Scottish coast. Copeland Island is the largest of the group of 3 islands, the others being Old Lighthouse island and Mew Island where the lighthouse now stands. The other 2 can be visited by arrangement.
