The Carlow Autumn Walking Festival is a great opportunity for beginner, experienced or advanced walkers to enjoy the challenge of Carlow's mountain treks or the peace of its woodland and forest parks.

A beautiful and varied landscape, knowledgeable local guides and excellent accommodation all combine to ensure you enjoy a relaxing Autumn break.

Highlights for 2014 include a choice for walks for beginner, experienced or advanced walkers, canoeing tours along the River Barrow on Saturday and Sunday, a walk with Eanna Ni Lamhna from RTE Saturday, an opportunity to Bike and Hike along the River Barrow daily; family friendly walks, and history and heritage walks.

If you’re a serious rambler or just like to stretch your legs and enjoy the view, Carlow is a brilliant destination to explore on foot. The Carlow Autumn Walking Festival is a great opportunity for beginner, experienced or advanced walkers to enjoy the challenge of Carlow’s mountain treks or the peace of its woodland and forest parks.

A beautiful and varied landscape, knowledgeable local guides and excellent accommodation all combine to ensure you enjoy an Autumn break, that will leave you feeling revitalized.

Including a combination of "A,B and C" walks on both days, there truely is something for all on this Festival. Distances vary from 7km (taking an hour or two) to 20km (taking up to 8 hours) and include river walks, forest parks and mountain treks.

Requirement for walk:
There are strict limits to the size of each walk, therefore pre-registration is required. With 19 graded walks - beginner, intermediate and advanced on the South Leinster and Barrow Ways. All walks led by local guides. Accommodation packages. All A and B walkers must be very experienced hill walkers. Suitable clothing to be worn at all times, together with a suitable change of clothing and adequate food required.
