Encounter the vibrant world of the Irish harp at An Chúirt Chruitireachta International Harp Festival. Irish and international harpists will collaborate with traditional musicians in a memorable week of concerts, workshops and harp exhibitions.
This year's festival will focus on links between the early Irish harp and the contemporary interpretations of our national instrument, celebrating the Trinity College 14th century "Brian Ború" harp on the 1000th anniversary of the Battle of Clontarf. Leading internationally acclaimed virtuoso players will perform each evening collaborating with Irish harpists and traditional players presenting a wide variety of musical styles.
On the opening day of the festival, visitors are invited to the "Hands on the Harp" event as harpists introduce the harp during the exhibition of the instruments by Irish and international harp makers. Daily afternoon workshops and seminars will introduce aspects of harp performance and the musical tradition. Concerts take place each evening at 8pm at An Grianán, Termonfechin where the eclectic and stimulating performances will be the highlight of the festival.
