Calling all history buffs! The second annual Dublin Festival of History will take place this Autumn in Dublin Castle and city libraries with a programme of lectures and events on a variety of history topics. The Dublin Festival of History brings authors and historians of national and international renown to Dublin to lecture, debate and engage with audiences on history topics. The festival is aimed at anyone with an interest in history and who enjoys reading history for pleasure. The overall theme of the festival is general history, from all eras and aspects, and is aimed at history students, tourists and the general public. Events include history lectures and discussions, historical walks of the city, writing workshops and films. Topics from the Decade of Centenaries will feature with a particular emphasis this year on the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War. The festival also highlights the wonderful collections of historic and family history documents held in Dublin City Public Libraries.

This event is an initiative of Dublin City Council and is managed and programmed by Dublin City Public Libraries.
