KFF is celebrating its 15th year with a bumper program of features, short film competitions, family galas, workshops & exhibitions. The event is a vital element of Kerry's cultural landscape, dedicated to film & fillmmaking!
Kerry Film Festival brings filmmakers and industry professionals from Ireland and across the globe to celebrate in a very special anniversary schedule that includes live film score performances, internationally renowned directors' talks award winning features and much more. A multi venue and multi-location (Tralee, Killarney, Cahersiveen, Killorglin, Waterville, Kenmare & Listowel) festival, this festival actively encourages and celebrates all styles of film. The special short film competition for emerging filmmakers will be judged by a prestigious jury that in the past has included Academy Award and BAFTA winning Animator Richard Baneham, Directors Lenny Abrahamson and Paul Greengrass, and Producer Finola Dwyer.
Last year, the annual Maureen O'Hara Award for Women who have Excelled in Film was awarded to costume designer Consolata Boyle. Consolata is an award-winning designer whose credits include the recent productions Byzantium and Philomena as well as Angela's Ashes, Tamara Drewe, The Iron Lady and The Queen, for which she received an Oscar nomination. Previous winners also include Saoirse Ronan and Juliette Binoche.
KFF is dedicated to promoting new and exciting developments in film and technology. It is embracing interactive films once again with the Kissinger Twins presenting their live interactive film.
