The abbey at Bective sits overlooking the River Boyne and is just a 15-minute drive from Navan, County Meath. It was the second Cistercian settlement in Ireland, established following the success of the nearby Mellifont Abbey.
The Donaghmore Round Tower is found northeast of Navan, County Meath and stands on the land of an early-Christian settlement thought to have been founded by St Patrick and directed by his disciple, Cassan. The tower dates back to the 10th century.
