Bonde Söker Fru in Northern Ireland

Sweden’s most popular feel-good programme visits Northern Ireland next week as Farmer Peter is joined by potential wife Helene for a romantic trip to Belfast and the stunning Causeway Coast.

They’ll be hoping that love will blossom as they take in the gorgeous Glens of Antrim on horseback before enjoying a sunset champagne picnic at the spectacular Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge.

We would like to invite you to sample some of the delights from this programme and let you follow in Peter and Helene’s footsteps with the great offers below. Why not rent a car and explore one of the most incredible coastlines in the world?

The Causeway Coastal Route between the cities of Belfast and Derry~Londonderry is a kaleidoscope of natural landscapes, imposing cliffs, deserted white strands and otherworldly rock formations. The route starts in Belfast and will take you through the gorgeous Glens of Antrim, past the romantic remains of Dunluce Castle – teetering on a craggy headland – towards the famous Giant’s Causeway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In fact, there are so many fantastical landscapes along this Northern Ireland route that several places have been chosen as filming locations for the smash-hit HBO series Game of Thrones.

One of the many benefits to travelling by car is getting off the beaten track and discovering a deserted beach, a remote country pub, a staggering cliff face or even just enjoying the winding country roads, which cut through spectacular scenery and are frequently dotted with sheep. Another great way to experience the legendary Irish welcome is by staying with some of the most hospitable people in Ireland! Take your pick from family run Bed and Breakfasts, historic homes or rural farmhouses. If you are more of a city ‘breaker’ then why not visit Belfast City and maybe buy some last minute Christmas presents in one of the many great shops?
