Highlights this year include 'Africa's premier diva' Angélique Kidjo. One of the Guardian's 'Top 100 Most Inspiring Women in the World' and three-time Grammy winner Beninese singer-songwriter, actress and activist, Kidjo will perform her latest work, an interpretation of The Talking Heads classic 80s album Remain in Light. Angélique reclaims rock for Africa, bringing to the stage euphoric singing, explosive percussion, horn orchestrations, and select lyrics performed in languages from her home country.
Blues legend Eric Bibb also headlines a show at this year's festival. A fiery singer with true soul, gospel and folk roots, his music rooted is in tradition, but served with a large helping of contemporary sensibility to make it both retro and relevant. Original Blues Brother Dan Aykroyd famously declared to the American-born singer, 'You are what the blues in the new century should be about'.
