Enjoy a flavour of the Wild Atlantic Way at the Mary From Dungloe International Arts Festival from 27 July to 5 August 2019
In its 52nd year, this Festival attracts visitors from all over the world to experience the best of Donegal through events focused on our traditions, heritage and culture. Our festival has a packed itinerary over a 10 day period. This year’s highlights include Donegal Crafted, an event offering bespoke goods from local artists and food producers. There is an opportunity to see and partake in traditional Irish music and Dancing. Enjoy an exhibition covering the reasons why so many Donegal women emigrated between 1845 and 1950. There will be chances to delve into family history and genealogy both as a guided walking tour and through workshops. Visitors can try some new outdoor adventures all under the backdrop of the rugged mountains and the stunning coastline of the Northern Headlands. There will be big bands to solo artists, classical to country, street food, a carnival and gala ball. All culminating in the main event, the crowning ceremony for the new Mary of Dungloe for 2019. A true community festival, we in Dungloe look forward to welcoming all our new and returning visitors this summer.
