Atlantic Villa, The Cable Master's House, built in 1873 is a spacious historic residence. The organic gardens, honey bees, sauna and seaweed bath are all part of the experience on Ireland's most westerly inhabited island, Valentia Island.
Atlantic Villa is ideally situated in the heart of the village of Knightstown yet secluded within its own private gardens. The house was built for the cable master at the time of Trans-Atlantic cable that was laid from Valentia Island to Heart's Content, Newfoundland, Canada.
Atlantic Villa has four bedrooms, all ensuite, with open fire places and a sauna. The sitting cum dining room and the TV room all have open fires. Free WiFi is available for guests' use. A full traditional Irish breakfast or breakfast menu using fresh produce from the owner's garden, hens and bees is available.
Atlantic Villa is a short walk to all local amenities and attractions including local pubs, restaurants and cafés. Diving, fishing, kayaking, sailing, harbour tours, swimming, tennis, children's playground, walking trails, beach, subtropical gardens, ice cream parlour, heritage centre, Skellig experience and Skellig trips are all close by. Packed lunch can be organised upon request.
Valentia Island is located close to world class golf courses and is convenient for those touring the Ring of Kerry. It is part of the Kerry Dark Sky Reserve so it is an ideal location for star gazing without light pollution. Valentia Island is on The Wild Atlantic Way and The Skellig Ring.
