Belfast will host the prestigious World Police and Fire Games (WPFG), the third largest international multi-sport event in the world, from 1 - 10 August 2013. Around 10,000 competitors from over 70 countries are expected to attend the games along with family and friends. Competitors will compete in around 56 sports at 35 venues across Northern Ireland.
The majority of events are open to the public, giving people the opportunity to attend some fantastic, free sporting events. The Games are held biennially and are commonly referred to as the 'Olympics' for serving and retired police, fire, prison and border security officers. Accommodation for participants
