In this tour you will have the opportunity to research your ancestry with the help of a local genealogist and discuss with others any difficulties you are having. The tour programme has been chosen to give you the best understanding of the lives of your ancestors while taking in the beautiful countryside, towns and cities of Ulster.
If you prefer to join only a portion of the tour programme please advise and Family Ulster will tailor your participation to your needs.
Day 1
Family Ulster will pick you up at Belfast or Dublin airports or ports for transfer to Jurys Inn Hotel in Belfast, where you will stay bed and breakfast for the duration of the tour. After check-in you will be taken on a tour of the City of Belfast.
Day 2
Full day tour of the magnificent North Coast including visits to Carrick-a-rede Rope Bridge, the World's oldest whiskey distillery at Bushmills, the world heritage site of the famous Giant's Causeway and the ancient remains of Dunluce Castle.
Day 3
Research day at the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland in Belfast where you will be assisted in your ancestral research. An alternative tour will be available for those friends and family who do not wish to research. This tour will be to Downpatrick, Armagh and Monaghan.
Day 4
Full day tour to the ancient walled city of Derry / Londonderry including a visit to The Tower Museum.
Day 5
Full day tour to The Ulster American Folk Park in Omagh, County Tyrone to learn about the emigration of people from Ulster.
Day 6
Free day in Belfast to explore or carry on researching.
Day 7
Visit to the Lakes of County Fermanagh and Belleek Pottery to see how the fine china is made.
Day 8
Transfer back to the airport or port for your journey home.
Research and Tour Package price £830.00 (S/S £140.00). Price includes accommodation including breakfast, all land transport during tours, all entrance fees of sites visited in tours. It does not include your flight to and from Ireland.
