    Belfast Castle, Belfast

    A castle full of surprises

Themed dining experiences, art courses and vintage fairs are just a taste of what’s on offer in Belfast Castle itself, so keep an eye on their website for upcoming events. The castle, with its beautiful interior, is also a popular wedding venue if you fancy being King and Queen of the castle on your unforgettable day.

As for Cave Hill, you can uncover the history of the park at the Visitor Centre inside the castle. You can also pick up orienteering maps from the Belfast Castle reception if you plan on venturing into the woodland. The castle, estate and Cave Hill trails are circular walking routes ranging from 1km to 7km, and are a great way to discover the area. Be on the lookout for cows, long-eared owls and other flora and fauna in this nature-lover’s dream.

    Explore beyond the trails

It’s definitely worth taking your time and making the most of the great walking routes around Cave Hill Country Park while you’re here, but nearby, you’ll be able to enjoy a wealth of attractions. Belfast Zoo is only down the road if you fancy getting up close and personal with the animal kingdom, or swap the green grass of Cave Hill for the green fairways of Fortwilliam Golf Club, directly opposite the park, where a challenging 18-hole parkland dating back to 1891 awaits. The nearby Taxi Tours Belfast is one for those looking to delve deeper into the history and politics of Northern Ireland.
