Enjoy one of Ireland's leading literary festivals in the magical surrounds of Listowel, Co Kerry.
Listowel Writers' Week is one of the biggest annual events of the Irish literary year. It attracts some of the best Irish and international writers to Kerry to discuss the writing process, their latest releases, and the various inspirations and impulses behind their words.
Amongst the highlights of the 2018 edition will be a meeting of two of distinctive female Irish literary voices of different generations, when Edna O’Brien and Eimear McBride sit down in the Listowel Arms Ballroom for a conversation about their writing and their individual processes.
Elsewhere there will be conversations with the British writers Anthony Horowitz and Margaret Drabble, and a series of smaller events featuring the likes of Sally Rooney, Colm Tóibín, and Michael Longley.
There is also a series of creative writing workshops which each take place over three days, and which focus on a variety of different topics, from short fiction, to crime writing, to novel planning, to poetry, and even songwriting.
Every day of the five-day programme is packed full of insightful and inspiring speakers and the evenings are often spent in long conversation over food or drink around the town. Truly a literary haven for writers and readers alike.
