The Durrow Scarecrow Festival is truly a festival that’s outstanding in its field. Taking place in the village of Durrow in County Laois, it's a festival for all the family, with the highlight of events being the All-Ireland Scarecrow Championship.

The Durrow Scarecrow Festival, now in its ninth year, takes place in the picturesque village of Durrow in County Laois. Nominated twice for Best Festival in the Irish Times Ticket Awards, the festival is fast becoming one of national acclaim.

The highlight of the festival is, of course, the All-Ireland Scarecrow Championship, in which hundreds of scarecrows from the four corners of Ireland and even further afield will compete to win a prize.

The Scarecrow Festival is made up of loads of areas, each with its own individual spin on things. In the centre of the village, you'll find the Scarecrow Village and the food and craft fair. Further away, more sedate areas where you can kick back and chill out include the playground and Scarecrow Electric Picnic.

Enter another world of vintage times at The Ranch, check out some great round bale entries, or pick up a gift at the arts and crafts fair. Throw in the wonderful Once Upon a Scarecrow interactive zone, The Old Scarecrow Who Lived in a Shoe and some action at Laserwars and you truly have something for everyone.

With many events catering for children, pre-teens, teens and adults taking place throughout the nine days, and with an emphasis on family entertainment, the Durrow Scarecrow Festival is a great place to go. It's a festival that’s truly outstanding in its field.
