Dromoland Castle Hotel in County Clare is one of Ireland's finest hotels. The five-star accommodation is an historic building that dates back to the 5th century and was originally the ancestral home of one of the few families of Gaelic royalty.

Approached by a meandering drive that passes acres of magnificent lawns, the luxurious Dromoland Castle Hotel in County Clare overlooks its own golf course and a glistening lake. The castle, which is part of the Dromoland Collection, has an extraordinary history stretching back to the 5th century.

Today, the five-star hotel offers rooms that have been individually designed and decorated with guests’ comfort in mind. All deluxe rooms include slippers, bathrobes, interactive TV, broadband Internet, trouser press, hairdryer, iron, ironing board and personal safe. For added luxury, guests can choose to upgrade to a state room or suite.

At Dromoland Castle, there’s always time for fine dining. The Earl of Thomond is an award-winning restaurant that offers a relaxed but elegant experience. There, innovative cuisine is served with tradition and a hint of creative flair. There’s also the more informal Fig Tree Restaurant and the Cocktail Bar, which is perfect for daytime refreshments and evening drinks.

A luxurious stay at Dromoland Castle continues as the spa, a haven of calm and tranquility. It comprises six treatment rooms, two dedicated manicure and pedicure rooms, and an outdoor hydro spa.

The hotel is perfectly situated to offer a vast number of activities to its guests. The grounds and woodlands are perfect for exploring on foot or on horseback, with horse riding lessons available at nearby stables. There are also opportunities for fishing, falconry, tennis and archery, as well touring other highlights of the region, such as Limerick City, Galway City and the Cliffs of Moher.
