Celebrate the work of John Williams, one of cinema's best-loved composers, at RTÉ NSO Cinema with the Symphony, presented by the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra.

Williams is an American composer and pianist who has been responsible for some of the the most recognisable film scores in movie history, including E.T., Jaws, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: A New Hope and many more. With six decades in the business, Williams boasts 24 Grammy Awards, seven British Academy Film Awards, five Academy Awards, and four Golden Globe Awards, making him the second most-nominated individual in the industry after Walt Disney.

With music so touching and timeless that his soundtrack to Star Wars was preserved by the Library of Congress into the National Recording Registry, for its cultural, historical and aesthetic significance, his is a talent that has shaped our pop culture consciousness in more ways than one.

Superman: A John Williams Celebration is a programme of some of his most enduring works, performed live in concert at the National Concert Hall. Conducted by Richard Kaufman, it's set to be epic.
