Paul Clements delights in the joys and pitfalls of 30 years gallivanting around Ireland.
Critically acclaimed travel writer Paul Clements will be here at ISLAND Arts Centre, Lisburn, to delight audiences with tales from his ‘Rambles round Ireland’. Clements has published three books about travelling around Ireland and his wry wit and story-telling ability have seen copies flying off the shelves. His Irish travel trilogy, ‘Burren Country’ (2011), ‘The Height of Nonsense’ (2005) and ‘Irish Shores’ (1993) make up just a small part of his output,
Clements regularly writes for newspapers and the Tyrone man is also a Fellow at Green-Templeton College, Oxford. Taking time out from this busy schedule, he will be in the intimate setting of our Gallery 2 space, taking the audience on a journey through his 30 years as a travel writer – the sights, the sounds and the absurd challenges like finding the highest point in the lowest county!
Why not make your own odyssey through historic Lisburn on your way here? Dander through the picturesque Castle Gardens, along the Lagan Towpath and Sculpture Trail to reach us at ISLAND Arts Centre situated on the former site of the Island Spinning Mill.
